Rise of the Creative Nation

A number of years ago, we noticed a dramatic shift of technology toward consumer markets and we called the phenomena Consumerization of Tech -- http://www.cio.com/article/22984/Message_to_CIOs_Ignore_Consumer_Technology_at_Your_Own_Risk

The underlying infrastructure work for all this is now in place -- super smart devices, super fast wired and wireless links, super sized cloud ecosystems.

So, the next few year we will witness harnessing of this infrastructure ... disrupting many vertical segment (finance, healthcare, education, government, energy, ...), leading to a noticeably higher quality of life for consumers via innovative flows and business models.

The creative nation is ready to rise.

  1. I could not agree more -- while Daniel Pink's The Whole new mind (http://www.amazon.com/Whole-New-Mind-Right-Brainers-Future/dp/1594481717/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294123606&sr=8-1 ) talks about this, this is the most insightful analysis of changes in contemporary society.

  3. You are on point. As an entrepreneur I now have access to global reach. The way our civilization offices is morphing: it impacts the design of our housing, our businesses and our cities. Sealed office building environments will be outmoded.

  4. I totally agree. We do have infrastructure and such rise has already begun. However, there remain many non technical challenges with modern technologies which have to be seriously dealt with as well before the way is fully open for our imagination. I have in mind the question of data security and responsibility for that data when it is stored in clouds, redefined meaning of privacy, etc.
